Sealing screws are used to seal out air, water, gas and other contaminants. They are designed with a groove underneath the head to accommodate a rubber o-ring, which is compressed to form an absolute seal against any surface, regardless of the finish. These screws are available in several head styles e.g. pan head, flat head, 100 degree flat head, and hexagon head. Sealing screws are usually made out of 18-8 stainless steel.
NYSEAL®, a patented, pre-applied, permanently fused sealing element creates a gasket-type seal, prevents leakage of fluids under pressures up to 100 psi and eliminates the need for time-consuming, in-house applications of O-rings, gasket seals or sealant compounds. It is also useful for preventing chemical reactions between aluminum and stainless steel parts. NYSEAL® fasteners are reusable and the green sealing element will not shrink or dry out from age.
